Grand Hyatt At Baha Mar Grand Hyatt Baha Mar VideoTour of the Fountain view suite at Baha Mar Grand Hyatt in Nassau Bahamas There’s the glitzy casino, sprawling property with activities, shops, and like seven pools. It’s a bit overwhelming at first! Baha Mar is actually a mega-resort made up of three different hotels, including the Grand Hyatt, SLS, and Rosewood. The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar is a . 3/21/ · Jamaica, Punta Cana and Costa Rica were close runner-ups but eventually the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar won the majority vote. The Baha Mar Resort is divided into three sections: the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar (where I stayed), the SLS Baha Mar, and the Rosewood Baha Mar will be opening June Below are the highlights of my trip.
If you are thinking about a trip to the Bahamas, or maybe down the road, keep this place in mind! Holy cow it was the easiest trip.
Not necessarily getting back, because we had terrible delays, but delays aside, easy peasy. We flew to Atlanta, and then Atlanta to Nassau, all in 4 hours and 30 mins.
We then took a taxi to the resort and got there in 15 minutes. Easiest travel ever! We got to the resort around noon so we had the whole afternoon to enjoy.
Check in went so smoothly too. We were told our room would be ready at 4 pm initially, so we when we got there I was shocked it was ready for us.
We dropped our bags off, changed into our swimsuits, and then hit the pool! So the Baha Mar Resort is actually broken up into three sections.
Grand Hyatt, SLS, and Rosewood which just opened. I will say though, I felt fancy staying in the Grand Hyatt!
The rooms were incredible, and we just did the basic Standard King room. The bathroom and room were connected with a sliding door, and the bed faced out towards a gorgeous view!
My favorite part of the room. My other favorite part was the coffee maker and comfy robes. It is very low key. The resort itself has a ton of restaurants and cafes inside.
They have a Starbucks , that we actually hit up quite a bit for an easy cheaper breakfast. Another cafe called Cafe Madeline , you must go here! The cutest little place with the best hazelnut latte.
This would be a good place to take a little afternoon break, or to escape the rain like we did. Highly recommend both! Super good food and fun atmosphere.
Tate got a burger and I got a flatbread! We got the tableside caesar salad and margarita pizza to split and it was the perfect amount of food.
They make the caesar salad right where you can watch, with homemade croutons, so good. I have heard really good things about Cleo as well from a few people we ran into.
The other nights we picked up food from one of the pool bars and had a picnic on the beach! The Out Island Bar was one of our favorite pool bars for lunch or quick food.
They have fun food trucks on the beach as well! We got breakfast burritos at El Jefe a couple times, and their chips and guac. They have a huge list of fun margaritas too!
Needless to say, you have a ton of food options, and all of them are great minus a few- just subpar.
My little tummy but not so little was always satisfied! TIP: Make reservations ahead of time! We made reservations the week before and worked out perfectly.
I have heard that if you try to just show up or make reservations the week of, you may not get in to places. The Grand Hyatt is massive.
But even though it is massive, they do an incredible job keeping everything clean and the service is amazing! I think I said something every time, haha!
There were a ton of employees willing to help with whatever you needed and answer any question you might have. The resort has seven pools in total.
Even though our rooms were ready we did have to wait like 20 minutes for our luggage to arrive. The girls of course decided to get cute though because this was after all their Senior Trip.
Katsuya was very good my favorite items on the menu were the spicy edemame and the crispy spicy tuna. I ordered room service each morning because breakfast honestly is my favorite meal of the day.
But my daughter and the other moms either ate breakfast at the club which was included with their room rate or at the Swimming Pig.
One night I did eat at the Swimming Pig late night and it was very good. I loved the chips and guacamole and the tacos. The night we were supposed to go to the Italian Restaurant Fila we were just too tired from our big boat trip all day so we made a group decision not to go.
But I heard it was very good. Some moms just ate dinner during happy hour at the club that night. Each day by the pool we opted to rent the Cabanas.
For two days we were at the pool with the cave and aquarium inside. You could jump off the waterfalls at this pool and into the water below.
Our cabanas were by the waterfall and this pool is the closest to the beach. For the last day we were at a more serene pool closer to the hotel.
I actually preferred this pool because there were less little kids running around and I could hear the awesome music coming from the SLS pool as well that was super fun.
My favorite drink by the pool was a vodka mojito and my favorite food was the hummus with veggies. There also were food trucks on the way to the beach right before you get to the pier.
The quality of the food was very good and the prices at the food trucks were amazingly low especially compared to the food at the hotel. My favorite thing to eat at the food trucks was the ahi tuna bowl.
We also never did made it by Cleo Mediterraneo but I heard that this was very good as well. The Privilege Pool is the only adult only pool at both of the hotels the one I was referring to above with the fun music.
But, the best pool for the kids had this massive cave with an aquarium inside. It had waterfalls and you could jump off the waterfalls into the water below.
They also had a very shallow end at the pool for the younger kids. BEACH: The beach area was quite big in size. And there were a lot of chairs set up as well.
There also were waiters taking drink orders on the beach as well which was very nice. The water here is ice blue and oh so gorgeous.
One day we took a boat excursion and I went snorkeling. The last night we had a sunset dinner and party on the beach from pm and we literally danced the night away.
It was a highlight of the trip for sure. So having access to the Grand Club Lounge is a huge perk. We made sandwiches from the breads, meats and cheeses that were out during breakfast and had those for lunch by the beach.
On some evenings the apps were so filling that we even ate there for dinner. Plus the lounge is really lovely and we enjoyed sitting outside on the balcony ever day, watching the fountain show at night, and taking advantage of the complimentary adult beverages.
There are plenty of activities to keep you buys around the resort. Kayaks and stand up paddle boards are free to use, and they have other water sports you can pay for like those crazy flyboards.
Entry is free, but you do have to pay for the bird food if you want to feed them. As far as restaurants go, we mostly ate at the Grand Club Lounge and went into town for dinner a couple nights to have conch omg, conch is SO good.
So just do some research to scope out decent spots that are relatively reasonably priced, but also be prepared for food to be expensive.
Overall, we had a great time at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and it was a really fun, relaxing trip! Hey, jetsetter! Like this hotel review?
